Good Lovelies Bios 240 Words
Whipped up on a wickedly warm night in December 2006, the Good Lovelies had no idea what was to come for their infant band.
Only one year after they released their debut EP, "OH MY!" Caroline Brooks (The Brooks Sisters), Sue Passmore (Bluesativa) and Kerri Ough are planning a mad dash tour across Canada in Summer 2008.
With hundreds of hours spent on highways in Ontario and Quebec the Good Lovelies graced stages at the Ottawa Folk Festival and Shelter Valley Folk Festival and performed at popular venues like Montreal's Yellow Door and during the Toronto Independent Music Awards ceremony at the Phoenix. To boot, these Lucky Lovelies showcased their unique sound for Toronto audiences during Canadian Music Week in March 2008 - and opened for the hilarious folk-trio, The Arrogant Worms.
After winning the "One-Fret Less" award and being named "Best Folk" by the Toronto Independent Music Awards -- the Good Lovelies are in the studio completing their first full-length album, "Good Lovelies" slated for release in January 2009.
The monkeys who make up this fun-loving, light-hearted, quirk-folk trio don't stop for sleep and won't stop until the air goes out of their tires and the strings fly off their stringed instruments.
And even then, I bet they won't stop.
Highlights of this year's activities include but are not limited to performances alongside: The Arrogant Worms, Chris Whiteley and Diana Braithwaite, Catherine MacLellan, Bill Bourne, Old Man Ludecke, Peter Katz and Rob Szabo.
